Central Valley Web Co. is a one person web design business owned and operated by Mateo Rojas in Modesto, California. This policy explains what I collect when you use this site or hire me, what I do with it, and what I will never do with it.

Plain version: I collect what I need to answer you and do the work. I do not sell your information to anyone, ever.

What I collect

When you fill out the contact form

Your name, email address, and the details you type into the message box. Business name and phone number are optional fields, and you decide whether to fill them in.

When you use the chat widget

Whatever you type into it, plus anything you volunteer in that conversation such as a name or a phone number. The chat is an automated assistant, and a real person reads the transcript afterward.

When you call or text

Your phone number, and notes I keep about what you need so I can pick the conversation back up later.

Automatically, when you load a page

My hosting provider records standard server request logs, which include your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. I use these for security and to know whether the site is working. This site runs no analytics scripts, no advertising trackers, and no third party cookies.

When you become a client

Business details needed to do the job, such as your address, hours, service area, photos, and copies of licenses you send me. Where a project requires access to accounts you own, such as a Google Business Profile or a domain registrar, you grant that access from your own account and can revoke it at any time.

What I do with it

• Reply to your question and quote your job.
• Do the work you hired me for.
• Send you invoices and follow up on a project.
• Keep records of past work, so that when you call me a year later I know what I built.

What I never do with it

• Sell it, rent it, or trade it. There is no circumstance in which your information is a product.
• Add you to a marketing list because you asked me a question.
• Share it with anyone except the service providers listed below, or where the law requires it.

Text messages

If you call and I cannot pick up, you may receive one text back from my business number in reply. Placing that call is your opt-in for that reply. If you give me your mobile number on the contact form, you may receive a text reply at that number about what you asked for.

Messages are conversational and about your job. I do not send promotional blasts. Reply STOP to any message and you will not be texted again. Reply HELP for contact information. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

Who else touches your data

I use a small number of outside services to run the business. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.

• Cloudflare Pages hosts this website and keeps the server logs described above.
• Web3Forms processes the contact form and delivers the submission to my email inbox.
• The chat widget runs on a server I operate, and the message you type is processed by an AI model provider to generate a reply.
• Google Workspace holds my email.
• Twilio carries business text messages and phone calls.

These providers are processors acting on my instructions. None of them are permitted to use your information for their own marketing.

How long I keep it

Inquiries that never turn into a project are kept for about two years, then deleted. Client records are kept for seven years, because tax and business records have to be. Ask me to delete something sooner and I will, unless I am legally required to keep it.

Your rights

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information I have collected, the right to have it deleted, the right to correct it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of. To make any request, email mateo@centralvalleywebco.com. I will reply within 45 days, and I may need to verify who you are before acting on a request about someone's records.

Children

This is a business to business service. The site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Accounts are protected by strong, unique passwords and two factor authentication where the provider offers it. No system is perfect, and I will not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information, I will tell you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes affecting current clients get an email, not just a quiet edit.
